How GREASE(TM) was born: Back in 1971, writers Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey launched the show in a small experimental theatre in Chicago. Then, by sheer luck, a pair of New York producers happened to catch their act and were so impressed that they made an on-the-spot deal to adapt GREASE(TM) for New York. On Valentine’s Day, 1972, the Fifties came to life on stage at off-Broadway’s Eden Theatre. Now in 1978, the movie version appears!
